Recapping Our National Walk the Dog Day Event in Denver
45 Dogs, 38 Humans & One Beautiful Day at City Park

On Sunday, February 22nd, we had the absolute joy of co-hosting a National Walk the Dog Day community event at City Park in Denver alongside Colorado Pet Parents — and it was everything we hoped it would be.
What started as a simple idea to celebrate movement, community, and our love for dogs turned into something much bigger.

Why National Walk the Dog Day Matters
National Walk the Dog Day is more than just a cute calendar holiday.
It’s a reminder that walks are:
-
Mental stimulation
-
Physical exercise
-
Bonding time
-
Emotional reset
-
Community building
As a Denver-based dog treat business, we believe enrichment goes beyond the bowl. It’s about shared experiences — fresh air, wagging tails, and conversations between dog parents who understand that pets are family.
That’s exactly what happened at City Park.
A Morning at City Park with the Colorado Dog Community
City Park gave us the perfect backdrop — wide paths, open skies, and plenty of tail wags.
We gathered near the tennis courts for check-in, handed out name tags, and took a moment to welcome everyone. There’s something special about looking around and seeing dozens of leashes, excited pups, and humans ready to move together.
Some dogs trotted proudly.
Some pulled enthusiastically.
Some stopped every five seconds to sniff (as they should).
It wasn’t about pace.
It was about presence.
Thank You to Our Sponsors
We could not have made this event possible without the incredible brands who supported it.
🐾 AJ’s Dog Bakery
As a woman-owned, Colorado-based dog bakery, we were honored to provide fresh, small-batch treats for our walkers. Every goodie bag included rawhide-free, human-grade treats made right here in Colorado.
Community events like this are exactly why we do what we do.
✂️ Lucky Dog Mobile Groomers
Lucky Dog Mobile Groomers brought their mobile grooming van so attendees could see their services up close and learn more about convenient, stress-free grooming options. Having trusted local service providers present makes these gatherings even more valuable for pet parents.
⚡ Verb Energy
Walks require energy — and Verb Energy Bars helped keep our humans fueled and refreshed. Supporting dog parents means supporting the whole experience, not just the pups.
🦴 Old Dog New Treats
We were so grateful to have Old Dog New Treats contribute to our goodie bags. Supporting fellow small businesses in the pet industry is something we deeply believe in.
Old Dog New Treats began with a dog named Ghostface my loyal best friend and the heart of this brand. As she entered her senior years Owner Tiana wanted to make treat time something she could still look forward to. But Tiana quickly realized most senior dog products focused on what dogs lose not what makes them special.
Tiana started experimenting in my kitchen determined to make treats that were soft nourishing and full of heart. Every batch was guided by one question: Would Ghostface love this. She did and so did every senior pup I shared them with. Old Dog New Treats is a love letter to dogs like her.
We’re Just Getting Started
If you attended — thank you for showing up.
If you missed it — don’t worry.
This won’t be our last walk.
We’re committed to continuing to host dog-friendly events in Denver and across Colorado that bring pet parents together.
Because when 45 dogs and 38 humans gather for something simple like a walk, it reminds us:
Community is built one step at a time.
